Split Shaft PTO is used for make run superstructure (Hydraulic Pump, Water Pump, Vacuum Pump, High Pressure Pum etc...) This gearboxes are mainly used for Fire Fighting Trucks, Cleaning Combination Trucks, Sweeping Trucks and Road Maintenance Trucks.
The most important thing is installation of Split Shaft Units for use the product efficiently. Firstly drum brake of truck should be checked. Some truck has drum brake behind their main transmission. For this application Split Shaft Units needs to build with drum brake system.
If installation is not done properly it may demage cause on spare parts of gearbox and heating problem can be seen. Even installation is done greatly, in some application superstructure works over and over hours and this is cause of heating. For solution cooling system should be installed on the gearbox.
Split Shaft Units can be horizontal or vertical. Vertical ones could have 3,4 or 5 axis. When length of gearbox is increased lubrication system need to be build on the gearbox also.
Altouhgh it is optional Split Shaft Units can be controlled by sensors. Thanks to Engage & Disengage sensor operator can easily observe if sperstructure is on or off and can adjust rpm thanks to rpm counter sensor.
Before selecting Split Shaft PTO, Truck CVW should be checked. Trucks GVW can be from 3 tons to over 30 tons. According to radial force every truck needs different solutions. When we categorize trucks we see 3 types. Heavy Duty Trucks (Over 15 tons), Medium Duty Trucks (8-14 tons), Light Duty Trucks (3-8 Tons). PUMP&ROLL FEATURE: Pump&Roll Feature which means you can make run your superstructure while you drive your truck. HOT SHIFT FEATURE: For some application even Pump&Roll Feature is not getting enough. Especially for Vacuum Cleaning Truck, Sewer Cleaning Combination Truck, Water Jetting Truck “Hot Shift Feature” is very desirable feature. Thanks to Clutch Mechanism these kind of Gearboxes can be engaged or disengaged automatically.
HYDROSTATIC DRIVE: When truck needs to go with low rpm values but superstructures needed to be run with high rpm values hydrostatic drive can be great solution. Especially Sweeping Trucks can be good application for this system. With hydrostatic gearboxes you do not need to use second engine with this system. Thanks to Hydrostatic Drive you can build your Sweeping Truck with lower fund and you will economize fuel expense.
