The pump, driven by the PTO, transmits the oil to the hydraulic motor of the crane. The hydraulic motor transfers the received oil to the drum as mechanical movement, and the crane starts working in this way. Kozmaksan KHB series cranes operate on the hydraulic principle. In hydraulic cranes, the braking mechanism can be mechanical or hydraulic. The rope release mechanism can be mechanical or pneumatic. The braking principle of Kozmaksan KHB series cranes is hydraulic braking (Multi-Disc Brake).

This is a hydraulic winch with a hydraulic braking mechanism. The products are packaged including 25 meters of rope and a hook. The products have a spring pressure device and rope regulator. As an additional feature specific to this series, the products are packaged with a bottom mounting plate and connecting bolts. Normally, the bottom mounting plate and connecting bolts are supplied by the end user.

In this type of hydraulic motor, the brake valve sends pressurized oil to the disc brake pad housing inside the product, and the bronze and steel discs rub against each other under hydraulic pressure, providing braking. Braking is achieved in the same way as in Kozmaksan automatic transmissions.

Hydraulic braking cranes are preferred by many countries and manufacturers. This system offers more robust and longer-lasting braking. The easiest way to determine if a crane has hydraulic or mechanical braking is to look at the hydraulic motor. If the crane only has a hydraulic motor, it has mechanical braking. If the hydraulic motor has a valve, it has hydraulic braking. KHB SERIES MAINTENANCE:

The product operates with SAE 80W90 transmission oil. Like Kozmaksan transmissions, the oil needs to be changed at certain intervals. The discs in the braking mechanism may wear out and lose their function after a certain period (2-10 years depending on usage frequency); in this case, the braking discs need to be replaced.
