What is Cooling System?

Cooling system is a set of equipment employed to keep the temperature of a structure or device from exceeding limits setby needs of safety and efficiency. If overheated, the oil in a gearbox loses its lubricating capacity. Cooling systems are employed on Power Take Off Units with Lubrication Pump. In other words, if lubrication pump does not suffice for cooling the system, we need to use Fan or Heat Exchanger for that purpose. Depending on conditions (Pump rpm value, power, climate condition, type of truck, working hours etc.) Kozmaksan can suggest the best option for cooling system.

Lubrication Pump?

Lubricating oil pumps are used to supply oil to lubricate parts inside of gearbox. Lubricating oil is like the lifeblood of a gearbox. When oil level falls, the gearbox fails. Oil is used for film thickness to reduce friction and friction losses.
In the case of circulation lubrication, the lubricating oil pump sucks some amount of oil from the gearbox, forces it through the lubrication points and then feeds it back to the gearbox. Gear pumps, which are able to generate high static pressure in the lubricating oil system, are preferably used for this purpose.
For these purposes, we use lubrication pump on different products to cool the system and reduce the friction losses to obtain better performance results. The right oil choice will allow your unit to have better performance results and lifetime.

What does Rotation mean?

Gearbox output sense of rotation indicates what direction the shaft is expected to rotate. It depends on which side one faces the equipment, i.e. looking at it at the front or rear. So the crucial point about shaft sense of rotation is indicating where we are facing the equipment. There two different rotation types;
  • CW: Clockwise
  • CCW: Counter-Clockwise

KOZMAKSAN also uses two different types of views to represent the sense of rotation of gearbox unit;

  • Front of Truck
  • Rear of Truck

What Are Those Plugs And Sensors For?

Oil Filling Plug
A plug on the product which is used for filling the oil into the gearbox. This needs to be removed to fill the oil.

Air Vent Plug
